An IDF soldier was killed by gunfire at a base in northern Israel earlier today, the army says, in an incident that is under investigation by the Military Police. According to the IDF, the soldier was seriously wounded and was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. His family was notified, the military says.
